The Bradys (1990)

After the success of A Very Brady Christmas (1988), it was obvious fans wanted to see more of the Brady clan.  Originally the plan was to do several TV movies, but when CBS was short a series, they decided to make it a weekly effort.  It was nicknamed Bradysomething since it dealt with adult issues and Thirtysomething was a huge hit at the time.  While I was ecstatic to have the bunch back in prime time, many people didn't particularly care to see America's favorite family deal with adult issues like Bobby becoming a parapalegic after a racing accident.  Or see them dealt with unrealistically like Marcia becoming an alcoholic, hitting rock bottom and seeking help all in 60 minutes.  The eight o'clock, Friday night timeslot didn't help either.

Interesting Brady Fact #1: Not to be outdone by Eve Plumb bailing on The Brady Bunch Variety Hour and Susan Olsen not appearing in A Very Brady Christmas (1988), Maureen McCormick sat this round out to care for her baby, making The Brady Girls Get Married/The Brady Brides (1981) the only time all nine cast members appeared together since the The Brady Bunch (1969-1974)

Interesting Brady Fact #2: Despite only having six episodes, The Bradys had three different versions of the theme song.
